Application of BPCS stenography to wavelet compressed video

ABSTRACT

Data hiding is a characteristic of objectoriented programming. Because an object can only be associated with data in predefined classes or templates, the object can only “know” about the data it needs to know about. There is no possibility that someone maintaining the code may inadvertently point to or otherwise access the wrong data unintentionally. Thus, all data not required by an object can be said to be “hidden”. Data hiding in media, in images, video and audio, is of interest for the protection of copyrighted digital media, and to the government for information systems security and for covert (stenographic) communications. It can also be used in forensic applications for inserting hidden data into audio files for the authentication of spoken words and other sounds, and in the music business for the monitoring of the songs over broadcast radio. The technology enables the insertion and recovery of hidden data in audio files through manipulation of the relative phase of harmonically related components of a host audio signal.Stenography the art and science of writing hidden messages in such a way that no one apart from the intended recipient knows of the existence of the message. The word “Stenography” is of Greek origin and means “covered, or hidden writing”. An encrypted file may still hide information using Stenography, so even if the encrypted file is deciphered, the hidden message is not seen.Stenography used in electronic communication include stenographic coding inside of a transport layer, such as an MP3 file, or a protocol, such as UDP. The advantage of stenography over cryptography alone is that messages do not attract attention to themselves, to messengers, or to 2recipients. A stenographic message (the plaintext) is often first encrypted by some traditional means, and then a hidden text is modified in some way to contain the encrypted message (ciphertext), resulting in stego text. Application of BPCS stenography to wavelet compressed video

EXISTING SYSTEM:

This paper presents the general principles of stenography, basic terminology, and an overview of applications and techniques. In particular we will consider data hiding within audio signals, the basic requirements and the state of the art techniques. We propose a novel technique, short-term auto correlation modulation, with several variations. The proposed method is characterized by perfect transparency, robustness, high bit rate, low processing load, and, particularly, high security.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:

The “Data Hiding in Audio Files” mainly developed to embed or extract the messages into audio files. This project basically deals with two important network security concepts namely stenography and encryption. For encryption AES algorithm is used. The plaintext is given as input. The plaintext is encrypted using AES algorithm. The ciphertext is given as output. The output ciphertext is hidden into the audio files using Stenography. For stenography LSB algorithm is used. The audio file is in the wave format is the chosen medium to conceal and transmit the secret information. Since the audio file is in ASCII format, the contents of the text file are also converted to the bit stream. The encrypted file is now embedded behind the audio file by mixing the contents together using LSB algorithm. At the other end, the encrypted file is separated from audio file. The encrypted file is then decrypted and the original text file contents are then viewed.
